A former Shooting Stars of Ibadan hitman, Sunday Adetunji, who had his forearm fractured after scoring his second goal in Abia Warriors’ 4-2 away victory over Lobi Stars in Makurdi is recuperating after a successful surgery.
He was initially rushed to the emergency unit of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where he received treatment before he was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, Abia State where a team of doctors operated on the forearm and successfully joined both ends of the broken bones.
“It was an open reduction internal fixation surgery to join both ends of the broken bones and hold them in place and I’m very happy it was very successful,” Dr. Enyinnaya Anozie, head, Abia Warriors medical unit, who was part of the team of doctors that carried out the surgery, told the club website.
Anozie revealed that the player was in a stable condition and could even return to action earlier than expected.
