The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Oyo North senatorial district, Barrister Bayo Lawal has reacted to the postponement of today’s general elections till February 23rd, 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The former Attorney General of the state in a statement signed by the Head of his media team, Ibrahim Nasir which was made available to insideoyo.com urged the people of Oyo North not to be demoralised by the postponement.
It reads “While we received with shock and disappointment the postponement of today’s election till February 23rd, 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We want to urge the good people of Oyo North which comprises the ten local government areas in Oke Ogun and three local government areas in Ogbomoso to keep the spirit high more than before”.
The Bamofin of Kishi also expressed confidence at poll whenever INEC is ready to conduct the election as the good people of Oyo North senatorial district and Oyo state at large are tired of the All Progressives Congress administration.
“We want to state categorically that our victory at poll in certain by God’s grace. The people are tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and are ready to rise and shine.
“We also urge, and appeal to our teeming supporters to be calm and patient despite this postponement. The ruling party only postponed their imminent defeat which will happen soon.”
