As the economic hardship hits harder with skyrocketing prices of foodstuff, a non governmental organization, George Aid Foundation, Texas, USA, with office in Nigeria distributed food outreach for widows, aged and nursing mothers in Oke Ibadan area of Oluyoro community of the Oyo state capital.
The beneficiaries of the monthly food outreach were selected by the landlord association of the community from zones and districts that make up Oke Ibadan Community, Oluyoro, Ibadan.
At the food outreach, foodstuffs including, rice, beans, cassava flakes, dried fish were packaged and distributed to the beneficiaries.
Distributing the food stuff to the beneficiaries, the President Rotary club of Ibadan, Jericho Metro, Rotarian Damilola Olaleye stated that the food palliative will help the downtrodden in the community.
He thanked the George Aid Foundation, Texas, USA for the support and partnership which he noted will go along way.
In her own remarks, Rotarian Lara Oluborode urged the people to be calm and manage themselves at this moment of hard time.
The chairman of the Oke Ibadan Landlord Association, Rev Oluwakayode Akinnuoye and other beneficiaries were full of praise for remembering them at this critical time.
The objective of George SKDD foundation, Texas, USA in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro is to provide nutritious food items to the less privileged within Ibadan metropolis and the gesture had been on for some months.
