In a path towards creating a well ordered society devoid of criminality, domestic threats, drugs abuse and other social abuse millitating against peace and progress of the country, both NOA and the State Security services have renewed partnership for excellent performance.
In a release sent by the Media unit of the National Orientation Agency, the joint resolve to mitigate crime in the State was the outcome of courtesy visit of the Director and the managements of Oyo state National Orientation Agency to the office of DSS.
While introducing the track team of the Agency, Stephen .A Oyinlola who’s a deputy director in the command described the visit as timely and a needed pathway to meaningful policy strategy between the eggheads.
The Oyo State Director of oyo NOA, Dr Olukemi Afolayan refer to the visit as homecoming to better partnership, She eulogised the DSS for their meritable role in mitigating crime in Oyo state an exploit to which all indices have pointed. The state Director stressed the need for partnership to nip crimes in the bud using grassroots sensitisation approach. Since both agencies are community based, their collaboration will produce informal exchange that wil put a stop to crimes in the State.
Dr Afolayan reiterated that the target of the Agency is to make National Core Values to be imbibed by all Nigerians starting from the youth age cohorts. The task that has led to the introduction of Integrity clubs in both 67 secondary schools and university in the State to intimate young ones to the ideals of growing up to be virtuous Nigerians.
The NOA state Director berated the escalating drugs abuse among youths and seek collaboration to find a lasting solution to it.
In his own response, John Macchim ( Fsi), the Oyo State Director of security service,a humane personality, who holds intellectual bent In crime prevention both home and abroad is also a fellow of international fraud investigation among several others, emphasised that DSS enjoy good relationship with NOA especially at the grassroots level where they are both present. He welcomed the Director led team of NOA whom he called astute and performing and pledge to further support their sensitisation their bottom- up sensitisation drive to make maximum impact.
John Macchim also promised to work harmoniously with the Agency to end ravaging drugs abuse in the State, said its time to crash crimes in totality in Oyo State.
Other Deputy Directors notably present at the event were , Dr Oluwole Faluyi, As ,Oyinlola and P Elisha.
The NOA team ably led by the Director include its Deputy director in charge of local government operations and special services Prince Adesola Sanda , Mr O AKANBI who is also a deputy director in charge of administration and Alhaji Isiaka-Adeniyi head of media and publicity.
The highlight of the visit was presentation of the National Flag by the NOA team to their host this Director NOA said symbolizes the patriotic roles both agencies are playing in nation building.
The visit was brought to a close with the recitation of National prayers and a vote of thanks Deputy Director in charge of DSS operational intelligence.
