Contrary to rumour making round the social media on crisis within Oyo State House of Assembly, the Majority Leader, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin has urged the people of the State to ignore falsehood, keep praying and supporting the State government on the efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
Oyo residents woke-up to insinuation of possible crisis within the PDP caucus of the assembly, alleging the Speaker of favoritism.
Adedoyin in a statement signed on Thursday however debunked the claims, adding that it is act of jobless to fabricate such empty lies.
According to him, the house during the Tuesday plenary adjourned till April 7 in order to support the fight against coronavirus at the lawmakers’ constituencies level.
He said, “The State government has declared two weeks break for the public and civil servants not to create free time for rumourmongers to distract either the Oyo State House of Assembly, or the executive from the fight against the COVID:19 pandemic.
“I want to appeal to all the e-rats and their sponsors to desist from rumormongering, and misinforming the good people of Oyo State about any move from us as PDP lawmakers to impeach the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
“We are persons of integrity and absolutely loyal to the development of Oyo State, and the lives of our people in this hard time is more important to us than any form of politicking.
“Under the leadership of Ogundoyin, the 9th assembly has recorded many feats. I appeal to us to engage ourselves in activities that will add value to us, and our State while maintaining social distancing, and praying the our nation and the entire world to see the end of Coronavirus in no distance time.”
