Oyo state Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya on Thursday, announced the deployment of 255 of its personnels to work with National Centre Disease Control (NCDC) to ensure total compliance on government directives on control of spread of Coronavirus in the state.
Alhaji Akinsanya who stated this in Ibadan said the deployed Oyo NSCDC personnels are from intelligence department, medical, disaster management and CBRN and were deployed to strategic location across the state.
The Oyo State NSCDC Commandant stressed that the Corps will ensure that people comply with all the preventive measures so that the State will be completely safe from the pandemic, adding that the deployed personnel have been patrolling all the nooks and crannies of the State educating and enlightening the people to observe personal hygiene, maintain reasonable distance,avoid crowded places,ensure that their house hold stays in doors as much as possible as well as report any health condition that is unusual to nearest health facility as quickly as possible.
He stressed that his men have visited churches, mosques, motor parks, markets and all other places where people are found in numbers to spread the information on self protection so as not to become victims.
Commandant Akinsanya then urged some citizens that may have traveled or return from abroad within past 14 days to go for medical check so as to nip any suspicious health development in the bud insisting that such proactive measures with not only help them to know their health status but will also prevent their family members and others from being infected.
