Oke-ogun born philanthropist, Dr. Oludare Akande, has flagged off a multi-million naira scholarship/bursary scheme for the brilliant indigent students of Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
The initiate is in furtherance of his unflinching commitment to building human capacity through Educational empowerment of Oke Ogun indigent students.
The scheme, which is one leg of the Educational objectives of an all inclusive initiative of Dr. Akande tagged Dare Akande Human Empowerment and Leadership Projects (DA-HELP) took place at Iseyin with the presentation of cash gifts to selected 35 students drawn across Nigeria higher schools of learning, who had a CGPA of 3.5 and above in their respective course of study, as the first batch of the scheme.
While giving a remark on behalf of Dr. Dare Akande, Comrade Christopher Ayantoye, advised the beneficiaries to continue to be more focused in pursuit of academic and moral excellence in their endeavors as that is only what will make them excel in life. He further stated that Dr Oludare Akande will not relent in continuation of rendering assistance to the Youths as that has been a part of him from time immemorial.
Comrade Ayantoye reiterates that in cognisance of that, Dr Akande remains committed to the success of other programs in the Educational objective of DA-HELP program- which includes the continuation of the extramural classes for SS 2 & 3 Students in the area which started in 2019, the train- the -trainers workshops to enhance Students performance in WAEC/NECO and JAMB, the counseling / guidance talk-shop for school cert holders, and the take off of the flagship American Polytechnic of Nigeria, Wasinmi, Araromi LCDA Oyo State- the first of it kind in Africa.
Students will also benefit in Student Work Program (SWP) in lieu of Tuition payment at American Polytechnic of Nigeria, Wasinmi.
The beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they confessed that this multi- million Naira initiative would be the very first time in history in the region-that an individual who is not in any elective position would consider giving out cash prize award of that magnitude to support them. It is their prayer that God almighty will continue to bless Dr. Dare Akande and be his pillar of support at every point in time.

The second phase of the cash prize is scheduled to be held in no distant time as the goal is to reach out to hundreds of beneficiaries that are indigent students of Oke Ogun in various higher institutions whose academic performance is far above average.
Dr. Akande also thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his continued support and fresh initiatives in the educational sub-sector In Oyo State.
