The management of First Technical University (TECH-U) has approved the closure of the institution til after Easter break inline with government’s directives.
The authority said it will deploy its Learning Management System to continue to deliver lecturers and assignments online to students.
The school registrar, Mrs Olayinka Balogun, made this known in state issued on Monday.
The school authority said the closure is in compliance with the directive of the Oyo state government that all private and public schools in the state should shut down to prevent, curtail, control, and contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“All students are therefore, expected to vacate the hall of residence latest by the evening of Monday, March 23, 2020.
“However, the university, being at the edge of technology, will deploy her learning management system to continue to deliver lecturers and assignment online to students even while they are off campus.
“Both students and staff at the First Technical University are hereby enjoined to adhere strictly to social distancing and other preventive, measures.”
