Former Oyo Deputy governor, Chief Bayo Lawal has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Senatorial ticket in Oyo South district.
Chief Lawal pulled 461 votes to defeat his rival against Barr. Azeem Gbolarumi who pulled 66 votes.
Chief Bayo Lawal will be contesting the seat with other candidates in the 2019 general elections.
With this, the three senatorial candidates of the PDP have emerged. Oloye Bisi Ilaka emerged as the candidate of the Oyo central senatorial district. Former House majority leader, Hon Mulikat Akande Adeola emerged as the flagbearer for Oyo North Senatorial district
