Ogbomoso, Oyo State – The Babaloja General of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, has visited Ogbomoso to address the lingering crisis among market leaders in the land.
Accompanied by officials from the State Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Abass urged traders to put aside their differences and work together to receive support from the government.
Addressing a gathering of traders, artisans, and royal fathers at the Soun Ogunlola venue, Abass emphasized the need for unity among traders, saying, “Only in one accord can you be seen and supported.”
The State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, who was represented at the event, echoed Abass’ sentiments, calling on traders to come together to chart a way forward.
The visit was preceded by a warm welcome from market leaders, including Alhaji Yekeen Olawuyi and Alhaji Moshood Ayoade, who thanked the entourage for visiting Ogbomoso.
The Babaloja General’s team later paid a courtesy visit to the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi, and the Onpetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oyediran.
The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi, has promised to intervene in the crisis, ordering warring factions to apologize to the Babaloja in Council.
“I will settle the rancor and ensure peace returns to the traders’ association,” he said.
