The leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Ibadan South East Local Government has declared unwavering loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, citing his infrastructural strides and impact on the local government.
The declaration was made on Friday during a meeting of the party’s APEX leadership held at the Ibadan South East Local Government Secretariat, Mapo. Leaders and stakeholders at the meeting said the governor has “transformed” Oyo State through legacy projects with direct benefits to residents.
“The governor has done well for us in Ibadan South East Local Government and Oyo State. He has transformed the state, he has implemented many legacy projects that will live beyond this generation,” the party said in a statement issued after the meeting.
“We have no other obligation than to affirm our loyalty to him and to continually support him and his administration. He has transformed lives through his various infrastructural development programmes hence he deserves our loyalty and supports.”
The APM leaders also declared support for the party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Abimbola Adekanbi, and promised to mobilize members and voters for his success in the 2027 general elections.
“All the leaders and stakeholders of APM in Ibadan South East Local Government will support him, we will support his aspiration to become president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement added. “He is our leader, the overall leader and we shall continue to stand by him.”
Prominent party and government officials at the meeting included Hon. Dare Adeleke, Prof. Dahood Sangodoyin, Commissioner for Energy; Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, member representing Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency; Hon. Oluwole Alawode, Chairman of Ibadan South East LG; Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Pension Board; and Hon. Abiodun Adedoja, Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Security.
Also present were Hon. Kunmi Adedina, Alhaji Yusuf Ali Temitope, Commissioner, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission; Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande and Hon. Yinka Omikunle, members representing Ibadan South East 1 and 2 in the State House of Assembly; Engr. Sulaiman Adesina, immediate past PDP chairman; and Hon. Olajide Oluwole, PDP Chairman, Ibadan South East LG.
The stakeholders said they would sustain grassroots mobilization to ensure the PDP/APM alliance delivers victory across the state in 2027.
