The All Progressives Congress, APC, has harvested nothing less than N180 million from the sale of expression and nomination forms for the Gubernatorial ticket in Oyo state, InsideOYO.com gathered.
InsideOYO.com had earlier reported that 8 gubernatorial aspirants obtained the form in Oyo as the consensus’ plans of Governor Abiola Ajimobi crumbled.
The amount, insideoyo.com gathered that the eight politicians paid N180 million into the coffers of ruling party, APC in Abuja. The expression of interest and nomination forms were sold for N22.5 million.
They are ex-governor Adebayo Alao-Akala; KPMG Consultant, Mr. Joseph Tegbe; co-investor in Ibadan DISCO, Dr. Olusola Ayandele; ex-CBN Deputy Governor, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu.
Others are Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN); Minister of Communications, Mr. Adebayo Shittu; ex-Health Commissioner, Dr. Owolabi Babalola and immediate past Health Commissioner, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan.
According to New Telegraph’s report, APC recoup about N3.8 billion from the exercise across all states. It findings also revealed that 171 aspirants paid for governorship forms. Governorship elections hold in 29 states in 2019.
The data was obtained from the national secretariat of APC in Abuja.
