A former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala and former senate leader, Oloye Teslim Folarin have been spotted in a trending photos with incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
They were seen in a room, wearing shirts and trousers, with Alao-Akala and Ajimobi matching theirs with jacket today.
Both Folarin and Alao-Akala were members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before they fell out with each other, in the build-up to the 2011 general election.
Folarin was believed to have supported Ajimobi against Alao-Akala in the build-up to the 2011 election.
The rivalry was rekindled in 2015 in the build-up to the PDP primaries. Folarin later got the party’s ticket while Alao-Akala left for the Labour Party, LP.
Few months after the election, Alao-Akala declared for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Few weeks ago when the Sen. Ahmed Makarfi led national caretaker committee of the PDP came to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Alao-Akala and Folarin were both absent.
Before Makarfi’s victory at the Supreme Court, Folarin’s men held sway as PDP Excos in the state.
Many had thought that Folarin would remain in the party and Alao-Akala would return but the trending photos may mean the ‘defection’ of Folarin into the APC.
Folarin, insideoyo.com learnt, has been ‘romancing’ Ajimobi as ‘they meet regularly, especially in Abuja.
