Alaafin Visits Faleti’s Family, Describes Late Icon As An Embodiment Of Oral Tradition

As a mark of respect, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has visited the Ibadan residence of late Alagba Adebayo Faleti.

Faleti, an Oyo-man, died few days ago after a brief illness, at the University College Hospital.

Represented by‎ three Queens led by Ayaba Ramat Adedayo Adeyemi, Ayaba Sulat Adeyemi and Ayaba Rukayat Adeyemi, they visited the Olororo, Ojoo residence of the late poet.

Ayaba Adedayo, who spoke on behalf of the monarch, extolled the virtues of the deceased, who she described as “forthright, passionate, diligent, upright and also an embodiment of Yoruba oral tradition.”
