The first lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Buhari has called on youths in the south west region of Nigeria to maintain peaceful conducts during the coming general election.
The first lady who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Oludolapo Osinbajo said this on Saturday in Ibadan at the South West zonal rally organised by the women and youth presidential campaign.
The state first ladies that were all present at the campaign are Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akredolu (Ondo), Dr. Zainab Bagudu (Kebbi), Mrs. Nneoma Okorocha (Imo), Mrs. Bolanle Ambode (Lagos), Mrs. Bisi Feyemi (Ekiti), Mrs. Salamatu Almakura (Nassarawa), Mrs. Olaitan Oyetola (Osun), Dr. Olufunso Amosun (Ogun).
While bearing the good will of the first lady to the women and youths from the six South Western States, Osinbajo said “on the election day, youths should only rejoice.
“Do not fight. Do not allow your parents to mourn you.
“After casting your votes, do not go home. Ensure that you stay back to protect your votes.
“Use your index fingers on the ballot papers. Be careful so that the ink doesn’t spread to another party’s box.
“Others might have been deceiving you, but the truth is that whatever Buhari is doing, he is doing it for your future.
The All Progressive Party’s National Women Leader and National coordinator of APC Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, Hajia Salamatu Baiwa encouraged women to mobilize their families support President Muhammadu Buhari in the coming election.
She said “We can’t afford to leave our country in the hands of thieves.
“Come all out with your children and vite for Buhari so as to secure the future of our children.
“Go beyond your family, go door to door in your community and tell them of the good work of Buhari.
“Remember the school feeding program, Npower and all other programs.
APC South West Zonal Youth Leader, Lawal Kolade who was also at the campaign urged the yoruba youths to give Buhari unflinching support.
“Buhari is building a foundation for our future.
“Osinbajo is our son and we have to support him.
“We have already promised Buhari ten million votes.” Lawal said.
