The Aare of Ofiki, Alayeluwa Oba Adeoye Gbenga Adigun Oyinlola II JP, PHF, has urged the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde to consider tarring the Agunrege – Owo – Irawo, Agoare – Ofiki and Ofiki – Igbojaiye township roads.
The monarch, in a statement made available to insideoyo.com, noted that these roads have over 40 farm villages which have economic potentials for both Atisbo and Itesiwaju Local Government Areas and will also boost the State’s Internal Generated Revenue.
“The Agunrege to Ofiki road has become a death trap. I am glad His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde came to my town during his campaign for the 2019 general elections and passed through the baddest road in the local council area.
“Even though he passed in the night but he felt the horror of the road. We deserve good road despite the fact that we are the greatest revenue source of Atisbo local government area.” he said.
As a way of complementing government’s efforts, the traditional ruler also listed some of the projects he has facilitated to the town in the last six months through various Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs.
“As a king who is keen on the development of his kingdom, I am trying all my best to assist government in provision of welfare package for my people through Non Governmental organizations.
“We have received donations of (4) four boreholes drilled for my people through influence from United Yoruba of Tulsa, Oklahoma state America, Virginia Baptist Mission USA & Attawasul Worldwide Foundation who are also constructing a mosque and block of classroom at Muslim Community Grammar School Ofiki.” he said.
