Oyo state House of Assembly Chief Whip, Honourable Akinmoyede Wasiu has decried that the local government were usually left with the inadequate funds as distributed by the State Joint Local Government Account Allocation Committee after the salary of primary school teachers had been statutorily deducted.
His submission made the Speaker and other members of the House to expressed worry over the accumulated funds and asked Governor Abiola Ajimobi to consider giving a bailout to the most indebted LGAs.
Here are the names of the local government areas and how they are owing:
1. Lagelu LG 8 months;
2. Ibadan North West – 6 months
3. Egbeda – 7 months’ salary arrears
4. Ogbomoso North
5. Ogbomoso South
6. Oluyole
7. Ona Ara local government.
The last four local government had three to four months’ salary arrears.
