Shooting Star Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan have gained promotion to the elite division of the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL.

The club defeated Ekiti United in the last and concurrent fixtures of the southern conference group to return to the premier league.

3SC spanked Ekiti United six goals to nil to top the league and square up with the topper of the northern group in the final of Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8.

The team fondly called Oluyole Warriors were relegated to the lower division of the national leagues in the 2016/17 season.
