The management and officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) have congratulated the Chairman of the agency, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi for his excellent third year in office.
The management and officers of the agency organized a special fitness walk to commemorate the 3rd year in office anniversary, on Saturday, in Ibadan.
While addressing journalists, the General Manager, Adeoye Adekola, lauded Governor Makinde for appointing Mogaji Akin Fagbemi describing the appointment as a round peg in a round hole adding that he has turnes around the fortune of the agency which has been moribund in the past.
He further expressed gratitude to Akin Fagbemi for the training and retraining of officers and rescucitating all the operational vehicles, heavy duty trucks and equipment for the use of the agency and for the benefit of the people of the state.
Adeoye added that the staff and officers of the agency applauded Mogaji Akin Fagbemi for his visionary ability by expanding the agency tentacles to every nooks and crannies of the state.
He further commended Mogaji Akin Fagbemi for increasing the number of commands from three to fifty eight commands across the six administrative zones in the state.
Adeoye promised the chairman of the agency their unalloyed support in order to move the agency forward and improve management of traffic through out the state.
He said: “Today’s road walk is very significant as to confirm our strength and agility as officers. It is a walk for sound health; it is a walk to awake the consciousness of all road users to always obey every rule and regulations of road traffic.
“It is to further sensitize the general public about cautions and safety on our road.
“Mogaji Akin Fagbemi was appointed as the CEO, OYRTMA on Tuesday 27th of August 2019, to coordinate, organize and supervise the activities of OYRTMA.
“We are all indebted to the state governor, His Excellency Engineer Seyi makinde, for appointing a replica of himself as our CEO, a right person for the job.
“As at the time of appointment Mogaji Akin Fagbemi as CEO, the agency was already moribund where nothing was working again.
“The staff and officers and men were directionless and clueless as the future of the agency was blinking.
“For the posterity sake, the late governor, His Excellency Alao Akala, bought about seven ( 7) light tow trucks and patrol vans, out of which only one truck and about three patrol vans were serviceable. While the remaining six were not serviceable and grounded.
“So GSM sent and raised Mogaji Akin Fagbemi for us in the agency turning everything around and working now, we are all eternally grateful, Your Excellency.
“Before Mogaji Akin Fagbemi’s appointment, Overseer Dr. Ebenezer Okebukola, who was the pioneer CEO and Colonel Olumide Ishola (Rtd), the immediate Past CEO has been in this office, they have been done their bits, but without been economical with the truth, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi stands out.
“At the appointment of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi in office, he turned around the moribund agency and today OYRTMA are in the core service of saving life and properties on our roads, where everything are now working.
“The officers, staff and men are now in a better hand, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi is the reason behind our joy and happiness.” he said.
The 3rd year anniversary of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi as the OYRTMA Boss were been celebrated through out administrative zones of the state concurrently, the administrative zones which comprise: Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oyo, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa.
