Controversial Nigerian blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, has declined request to ‘fight’ for students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, whose institution has been shut down for many weeks.
LAUTECH has been troubled for over 2 years owing to the inability of the owner-states of Oyo and Osun to pay workers’ salary as and when due.
Responding to a request on Facebook by a student, Aiyedun Lateef, who solicited her help towards the reopening of the institution, she claimed she was not helped while she was in prison and will only help the institution to reopen when she becomes President in 2023.
Lateef had commented: “pls aunty KOO , talk about LAUTECH pls. The future of over 27,000 students is at stake .. being on strike for over 10 months.” (sic).
In her Instagram picture posted last night, she said: “Sorry, I no longer speak for people. LAUTECH students didn’t speak for me while I was in prison. I was the one who begged the governor on Twitter to speak with the students leader who had to apologise on TVC back in 2016. Fight for yourselves. 2023, I will use federal power to reopen it when I become President”.
