The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will, today, inaugurate former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala and 61 others as members of its Contact/Strategy Committee for the 2023 elections.
The 62-member committee is being put in place by the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) as part of the party’s strategy to retain its hold on power beyond 2023.
The CECPC chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, approved the constitution of the committee, noting that it is part of the ongoing efforts by the CECPC to rebuild and reposition the party.
As contained in a released signed by CECPC national secretary, Sen. John James Akpanudoehede, the committee will be inaugurated today by 2:00pm at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja and it has as the chairman, Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Dr. Ikechi Emenike as the secretary.
Members include Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; Governor Yahaya Bello; Babagana Umar Zulum; Governor Inuwa Yahaya; Governor Abdullahi Sule; Governor Aminu Bello Masari; Governor Simon Bako Lalong; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Governor Dapo Abiodun; Governor Hope Uzodinma; Governor David Umahi and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Others are Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako; Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje; Senator Kashim Shettima; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; Senator Mohammed Umar Jibrilla; Timipre Sylva; Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala and Rauf Aregbesola.
Also on the list are Dr Chris Ngige; Senator George Akume; Mallam Abubakar Malami, SAN; Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruq; Mallam Adamu Adamu; Akinwunmi Ambode; Mohammed A. Abubakar; and Senator Mohammed Adamu Aliero.
