Governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, in Oyo State, Barr Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has expressed his appreciation to every member and indeed the leadership of the party for the implicit confidence reposed in him to present him to carry the flag of the party in the coming elections.
Alli, in a statement in Ibadan through his Media aide, Comrade Taiwo Ibrahim said he was overwhelmed with the rear show of solidarity and the enthusiasm displayed by all at the presentation by the indefatigable leader of the party, Sen Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The ZLP governorship candidate stressed that the eagerness of the people at the occasion demonstrated nothing but a show of preparedness by all and sundry to unseat the clueless government of the APC in the state with this new party.
He however promised, on behalf of all the candidates of the party – Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly, an issue based campaign as emphasised by the principle establishing the party adding that he will soon make public his blueprint for all in the state to peruse.
Barr Alli stressed further that his campaign will welcome “Community Scorecards” which will from time to time be integrated into the yearly budgets, this according to him will serve as a social contract with the people of the state.
The ZLP governorship candidate used the opportunity to condemn the game of deceit being played by the Ajimobi led administration on the civil servants in the state when he is distributing promotion letters and deferring it’s monetization till after the elections.
“This is purely a game of deceit,” Alli emphasised, “for seven years, Ajimobi did not deem it fit to reward the labour of the workers, for seven years, salaries have been lopsided, but now that his party is about to face people’s verdict through the ballot, he feels he can be smart enough to play on their intelligence, I’m afraid, the people have become wiser.
“With our administration, the state is going to have a new lease of life, market women and men will trade without the fear of getting unnecessarily hunted while artisans will be fully accommodated in a government that is truly of the people.”
