As a way of putting smiles to the faces of his constituents and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC this yuletide, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/ South East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has distributed cash and food items worth several millions of naira.
At the distribution which held simultaneously at St. Cyprian Primary School at Oke-Adu area of Ibadan North East and IMG Pry School, Ori-Aje area of Ibadan South East, Lam-Adesinaappealed to members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state to unite and avoid any kind of rancour between themselves in the spirit of one family.
Suing for peace in the party, he also cautioned them against divisive party devoid of discrimination.
Lam Adesina, who made the appeal on Friday during the distribution of food items, gifts and cash to APC members in Ibadan North East Local Government at Oluyoro Girls Grammar School, Oke – Ofa described the coming of former Governor Alao Akala and other top political juggernauts into the APC as a good development for democracy which he said has expanded the political space.
While assuring that more opposition members are still coming, the former commissioner said, “this is just a message to the opposition to know that 2019 won’t be easy, let them also be ready for a good fight.We are going to retain our seats by the special grace of God and win more seats”.
Meanwhile, the son of the late ex -governor of Oyo State, Lam Adesina has provided food items such as rice, vegetable oil, turkey and a donation of N3 million cash to the party members for the Christmas celebrations. An undisclosed amount of money, food items and other gifts were packaged for the leaders, local and ward executives in the council.
According to him, ” this is not the first time, if you notice since I came on board , in 2015 we started with about N1.5m and in 2016 we jumped to N2.5m and in 2017 we are giving out N3m to them for every festive period.
“Its just our own little way to appreciate the support that they have given us in the past and to make sure that they also belief in the system”.
Thanking the APC members and his constituents for their inflicting support, the lawmaker maintained that no electoral promise made during the campaigns by him would go unfulfilled, just as he remained committed to fulfilling all pledges.
Addressing the party members, one of the respected APC leaders in Oyo State, Chief Ayo Eniade who was overwhelmed with the various projects executed by the lawmaker, publicly declared that the leaders were satisfied with his programmes.
The APC chieftain added that they were happy with the performance of Dapo Lam Adesina in bringing the dividends of democracy to the constituency.
“Dapo is replicating the exemplary leadership embedded in his late father”, said Eniade.
He, however urged them to continually support him in his future political endeavour. The lawmaker is expected to replicate such gesture in Ibadan South East Local Government today.
