A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State and a national delegate, Barrister Bayo Lawal on Sunday congratulated the newly elected PDP National Deputy Chairman (South), Ambassador Toafiq Arapaja as he defeated a former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola at the just concluded party national convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Bayo Lawal who is the Baamofin of Kishi land also congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde and all the 181 delegates from Oyo State and delegates from other States who voted massively for Arapaja to emerge as the new Deputy National Chairman for the South.
While speaking with newsmen at the venue shortly after the final announcement, Lawal called on members of the party to unite, and take advantage of the crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and ride to victory in 2023.
“APC is campaigning for PDP because it is a failed party. Everything the APC is doing due to the misgovernance in the country would be to the advantage of PDP if we are united.
According to him, the mission to rescue Nigeria has begun, “APC is in a total shamble. The ruling party at the centre is in a crisis. So, we need to unify the party for the progress of PDP. Politics is a game of numbers, adding that that no victory is achieved in a divided house. He therefore prayed that Almighty God will continue to guide Arapaja in all he does for the party.”
