The Oyo state House of Assembly on Thursday screened and cleared the 27 years old commissioner-nominee, Mr Seun Fakorede and two other nominees.
The two other nominees are Mrs Faosat Joke Sunni from Iseyin Local Government Area and Professor Raphael Afonja from Ogbomoso North Local Government Area.
Meanwhile, there were pro and anti protests at the Assembly against the nomination of Mr Seun Fakorede as commissioner designates by Governor Seyi Makinde.
During the peaceful protest at the entrance of the Assembly complex, some elders and youths from the People Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa North and Central Local governments where Mr Fakorede hails from, alleged that the father of Seun Fakorede, Chief Olusola Fakorede had defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, prior to the 2019 governorship election.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Rashidi Sunmonu also alledged that stakeholders involved have not honoured zoning agreement with the nomination.
Also speaking, a PDP leader from Ibarapa North Local Government, Sir Samuel Olawuwo said the protest was not to antagonize Governor Seyi Makinde but to register their concern on the picking of Seun Fakorede as commissioner designates.
In a pro protest, Chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students, Oyo State, NANS, Mr Asubiojo Olujuwon while commending Governor Makinde for the nomination, said irrespective of in-house problems, Mr Fakorede is a competent Nigerian who would bring development to youths and sports.
