University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Professor of Exercise Physiology, Ademola Olasupo Abass who passed away on Wednesday morning.
Professor Abass who was until his sudden death, was seen amidst his friends and colleagues on campus Tuesday night died in the early hours of Wednesday in his house along Eleyele road.
Aged 52, Professor Abass was until his death Chairman of University of Ibadan Intra-campus Transport committee, a position he had held for three years before his demise.
However, leading the Principal Officers of the university on a condolence visit to the family, Prof. Olayinka who expressed shock at the sudden death consoled the widow, Mrs. Kemi Abass , describing the death of the young professor as devastating and shocking.
The UI boss who was visibly shaken by the demise recalled that Prof. Abass was full of life the last time he saw him, wondering what could have been responsible for the untimely death.
Prof. Olayinka encouraged the family to look unto God for assistance at this moment of grief, promising that the university would do everything possible to support the family.
The widow, Mrs. Kemi Abass who received the Management team thanked the university Officials for the visit .
Born on 11 March, 1966, the late Abass became a professor in 2011. He had National Certificate in Education of Osun State College of Education Ilesa 1985 and B.Ed. in Physical and Health Education (First Class Honours) at the University of Ibadan, in 1990.
