Juju maestro, Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi, in a classic, praised the opulence of the Ijebus. He sang: “Kekere ijebu, owo ni, agba ijebu owo ni…” If I may, I would like to adapt this song, and I apologise ahead for the adaptation.
My version goes thus; “kekere APC iro ni, agba APC iro ni…,” meaning that an average All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot be trusted to say the truth. Yes, there are always a few exceptions. But those are few far between. I came to this unassailable conclusion last week, when the Wife of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, lied from both sides of the mouth on something she simply should have owned up to and apologise for.
The Ambassador-designated had, in a video, said that her party would give Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State war in 2027. But when the heat of the statement came, she had simply did a volte-face, declaring that the video was AI-generated.
Without due regard to Mrs Ajimobi, the AI excuse is a blatant lie that can fly before reasonable people. This was a woman who said she and her party will use madness to cure madness while speaking about 2027 at a political rally. At the rally held at…, she said: “Ti won ba wa fe dan nkan nkan wo, ti won ba so pe ori awon ti fee yi, were la maa fi wo were won danu…,” meaning that if the opposition to APC wants to try anything or want to act crazy, we will give them for fire.
Now, how is her statement and threats of war in the video she disclaimed as AI-generated different from the one she said above? Florry is a bad liar and she should hide her face in shame for being such a bad example of a mother!
Sadly, I have seen some lickspittles like Adeniyi Olowofela rise in defence of Mrs Ajimobi but I won’t join issues with them. Why can’t Mrs Ajimobi just be honest and tell the world that she enjoyed the limelight that her ambassador I’ll nomination has brought to her and she would like to impress Abuja that she is in charge, hence the faux-pas? For any reasonable person, what was said in the disclaimed video only built on “were la maa fi wo were” gaffe. I really like Mrs Ajimobi, she carries herself gracefully and that grace has brought her very far, including being nominated as Ambassador where many men and women especially from Oke Ogun and other parts of Oyo State have been overlooked. But must she misuse the grace by riding roughshod on all of us? No.
Again, without due respect to her, she like a suckling who does not know war but who calls for war. She didn’t need to threaten war or wish evil on Oyo State, which her husband ran aground in eight years. Oyo doesn’t need war; it signed for peace and progress in 2019 and the state will not go back to Egypt.
However, I think the people of Oyo State should be rejoicing that God exposed the APC and what they represent ahead of 2027. This Mrs Ajimobi, the war-monger, is supposed to be theirs overall leader of the APC in Oyo State. The emergence of a governorship candidate and how such person will run the office of the governor have all been willed to Mama Ajimobi, the overlord. Oyo State was supposed to be run from Lebanon, ah I mean Ajimobi’s family house. Could it be because they want to finish what the husband started in terms of hurting the people of the state; the pensioners, the workers and others who didn’t have it good under the eight-years watch? Well, now that we already know that they want to give us war, shouldn’t we be happy that they have been exposed?
Dear people of Oyo State, Mrs Ajimobi and the APC want war; actually, war, darkness, negativity and lies are not far from APC. For Mrs Ajimobi it is war; for Teslim Folarin, their ambassador of regressed hope, it is pakute, for Adelabu it is darkness and grid collapse. What more do you need to be convinced about what APC stands for?
And, speaking about what APC stands for, another individual who has become irritable and a total nuisance, specialising in falsehood is Mr Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State now turned errand boy to Minister Nyesom Wike. The man has made it a business to spin falsehood against the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, running from pillar to post to discredit the man, who has largely ignored him.
His latest round of lies centred on Mr Makinde’s meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. How can anyone imagine that Mr Fayose would claim to know what transpired at a meeting he was not qualified to attend? If not for the fact that we saw photographs, the Ekiti Liar could have said that Governor Makinde was beaten and chased out of the Aso Rock.
Anyway, who expects the truth from an APC-apologist, who has been acting broke and behaving like Wike’s puppet. And, talking about Wike, I hope Mr Fayose has seen the video where Abuja protesting workers were chasing his boss. We have seen the video o; Mr Fayose should not claim it is AI or do an edit to tell us the drunk man from Obio-Akpor was being hailed for being worker-friendly o!
