The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has expressed its delight at the appointment of the former Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Dr. Sunday Dare, as a pointer to the readiness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to keep the focus of his administration on service delivery, accountability and consolidation.
President Tinubu on Wednesday announced the Ogbomoso, Oyo state-born media consultant as his new Public Communications Adviser. Dare had, at a time, served as the Chief of Staff to Tinubu when he was the governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.
In a statement issued today and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Oyo APC described Dare as a thorough-bred and accomplished professional in the field of journalism and public communications whose loyalty, diligence and commitment would add immense value to the administration of President Tinubu.
“As a population of people who never had any doubt about the ability of Mr. President to turn things around for Nigeria in spite of the many challenges which the country has had to face in recent times, we felt a bit worried when it was discovered that the present administration needed to increase its tempo in the area of public communications in order to showcase its activities and achievements on regular basis.
“So, with the appointment of Dr. Sunday Dare to function as an Adviser on Public Communications, President Tinubu has chosen another round peg to fill a round hole and the results will be positive in the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians. As a polyglot and a man who understands the northern and southern terrains of the country, we are confident that he (Dare) will bring his wealth of experience into bear and ease the task of frequent exchange of communication between the Presidency and the outside world.
“We, at Oyo APC, are also delighted that President found another active leader of our party in the state worthy of a critical assignment as this development has further solidified our loyalty and love for him (Tinubu). Therefore, we have the mandate of all the stakeholders in Oyo APC to show our appreciation to Mr. President and also request for more of such patronage as we have many more members who worked assiduously for the success of the APC in the last general election.” Oyo APC added.
