Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has stated that the Minister of Communications, Barr. Adebayo Shittu doesn’t have what it takes to govern the state ahead of 2019 elections.
Ajimobi, who appeared on Channels Television political programme – Roadmap 2019 monitored by insideoyo.com, on Sunday, said the Saki-born minister lacks the qualities of a leader and cannot rule the state.
“I will not support someone who has track records of abusing elders.”
To aim a top position, Ajimobi said someone must be cool and gentle and not always fighting with people in government, most especially constituted authorities.
He said: “Shittu started with the days of Bola Ige and Awolowo….go and check his records.”
“He is a lawyer for 30 years without wining any major case, without SANship, etc”
“I didn’t work for ‘wero’ enterprises, like him. I worked in Shell and other multinationals.”
Ajimobi, however, said he has never gone out to campaign against Shittu, but said If he (Shittu) changes his attitude and ways of life, he will support him.
Recall that Shittu and Ajimobi are not on the same side in the division of Oyo APC. While Shittu belongs to the Unity Forum, Ajimobi belongs to the Senaco group.
Shittu who recently wrote a letter to the leaders of the party complaining about the undemocratic conduct and actions of Ajimobi has not publicly declared his step on either staying with APC or leaving.
