The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, confirmed Professor Adeolu Akande as the Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), insideoyo.com reports.
The confirmation was done following a report by the Committee on Communications at the plenary.
A tweet on the official twitter account of the senate reads “The nomination of Professor Adeolu Akande is confirmed as Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission
“The nomination of Mr. Uche Onwude is confirmed as Member of the Nigerian Communications Commission.”

Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Prof. Adeolu Akande as Chairman, Board of Commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Prof. Adeolu Akande will replace Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye as Chairman, Board of Commissioners of NCC.
Akande is a former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor Abiola Ajimobi during his first term in office.
He was a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the last general election.
He hails from Otu, Itesiwaju local government area in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo state.
