To effectively combat threat in the society, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has advised Nigerians against allowing western culture destroy their Native Intelligence.
According to the revered monarch, security operatives need to brainstorm on how to ensure enhanced intelligence-gathering and management towards effective combat of emerging security threats.
Speaking while receiving the assistant commandant-general of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for Zone A, comprising Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states, Abdul-Waheed Bamidele Popoola, he observed: “We should not allow western education destroy our native intelligence. There must be holistic synergies among our security agencies on intelligence gathering.
“Obtained raw data or information must be evaluated to provide the best possible answers to questions initially asked. The processed information must be passed on to the authority, which should apply them purposefully to national ends.”
In his remark, Popoola said he had come to appreciate the monarch’s contributions towards the Corps’ effective operations.
