Saki Muslim Community in Oyo State at the weekend officially inaugurated the new executive council with a former chairman, Saki West Local Government, Alhaji Yunus Jolaiya Gbadamosi as the new chairman of the community.
A foremost legal practitioner in the town, Barrister Tajudeen Arojuraye is to serve as the General Secretary while Mallam Sarafdeen Adewale Ganiyu is returned as the Publicity Secretary I.
Also appointed are: Alfa Ahmed Alawiye Olatunji (Vice Chairman I), Mr. Balogun Saidu (Vice Chairman II), Azeez Semiu Akanji (Assistant General Secretary), Alhaja Khadijat Folashade Afolabi (Financial Secretary), Alhaji Adeaokan Alli Balogun (Assistant Financial Secretary) and Mr. Kazeem Olamilekan Oladejo (Publicity Secretary II).
Others are Alhaji AbdulNafiu Ahmad Alaro (Dawah Officer), Uztadh Ganiyu Olaleye (Auditor), Uztadh AbdRahman Khalid (Welfare Secretary), Alhaja Balogun Awawu Adebola (Women Welfare Secretary), Mallam Adebayo Nurudeen Baale (Ex-Officio I), Mr. Yusuf AbdulQawiy (Ex-Officio II) and Abdulganiy Abdulrasheed (Ex-Officio III)
At the ceremony held at the ADS Comprehensive College, Saki, the Secretary of the Shurah Committee who oversaw the selection of the new executives, Qosim Afolabi said the committee consulted widely with different stakeholders and harvested names from various Islamic religious groups in the town before concluding its assignment.
In his address, the new Chairman of the Saki Muslim Community, Alhaji Yunus Jolaiya Gbadamosi expressed readiness to work for the unity of Muslim Ummah and the progress of Islam in the town.
“Our strength lies in unity and victory lies in our diversities. It is important to come together, speak with one voice, and work in unison for the progress of Islam in our community. We can achieve so much if we work together,” the chairman said.
Alhaji Gbadamosi promised to consolidate the successes of Alhaji Sulaiman Lawal Oroyinyin-led executive to lift the Saki Muslim Community to an enviable height.
Also speaking, the immediate Past Chairman of the Saki Muslim Community, Retired CP Sulaiman Lawal Oroyinyin promised his continuous support to the new leadership, urging the Alhaji Gbadamosi-led executive to work as a team to enable them to succeed.
