The SAF Polytechnic, Idi-Ori Iseyin has received certificate which conferred on the institution the status of a fully-recognized private polytechnic in Nigeria by the National Board For Technical Education (NBTE) on Tuesday.
This is coming as the maiden matriculation ceremony would hold at the campus of SAF Polytechnic on Friday, May 3.
Alhaji Ismaheel Folorunso, the proprietor of the institution, disclosed on Tuesday.
According tothechronicler, a local based newspaper, he said the the certification was another achievement in the kitty of the institution which would enable it focus more on quality programme which would pave way for societal growth.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Architect Sonny Echono, who represented the Minister for Education at the certificate presentation ceremony, charged proprietors and management of private polytechnics and monotechnics to see quality and the bigger picture of how to help develop education in Nigeria as important than the drive to make money.
He called on the newly-certified institutions to see the opportunity they have as an avenue to support the Federal government’s efforts at reducing the number of students that fail yearly to gain admission to higher institutions of learning.

He said the management was not leaving any stone unturned in maximizing the opportunities provided by the institution for quality education by approaching various strategic education stakeholders to have more intake in the next admission exercise.
Two years ago, SAF polytechnic was approved to run programmes as first private technical institution in Iseyin. The seven lawmakers from the 10 Oke-ogun local government of Oyo State also congratulated the proprietor of newly accredited SAF Polytechnic, Iseyin, Alhaji Ismail Folorunso, traditional rulers and all indigenes of the region who contributed to the establishment of the institution.
