Rowdy session in the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
The uproar came when a newly sworn-in Oyo State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha exposed the party in his acceptance speech.
The PDP National Legal Adviser, Emmanuel Enoidem who swore in the new executive for the state on behalf of the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, claimed that the crisis rocking the Oyo PDP had been amicably resolved.
He said the PDP would reclaim the state in the 2019 general elections and tasked the new executive to obey the constitutional provisions of the party.
But delivering his acceptance speech, the chairman of the new executive, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha said the crisis was still on and called on the national leadership of the party to wade in immediately by visiting the state again.
“As the state chairman of the party, if I don’t tell the truth I am deceiving myself and the party.
”We would have come here for this inauguration before now, but they have been postponing it because of the crisis ,” he said.
But while the new chairman was going into details as to why there was still crisis and need for the National Working Committee (NWC) to wade in, there was acrimonious quarrel in the hall with party leaders throwing tantrums at him.
Some were shouting “that is internal affair of the party” while others were saying “it’s enough, sit down” among others.
When the hall became rowdy as he was being prevailed upon to sit down, he was forced into delivering a short speech without further exposing the party.
