Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is the period that Muslims throughout Nigeria observe the month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. During this period, Muslim families come together to share meals, especially at Iftar and Sahur.
Muslims engage in gifting within their communities during Ramadan. In line with this, Coca-Cola Nigeria has launched its Ramadan campaign titled; “This Ramadan, sharing makes us one” followed with community engagements across Abuja, Ibadan & Kano over the 30 days of Ramadan.
Every day during Ramadan, Coca-Cola will give out Ramadan packages comprising a specially curated gift box, one month’s supply of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and groceries to make a good Iftar to those who serve and put other people’s needs above theirs in these communities.
According to the Brand, the local influencers will lead this experience; Popular Nollywood actor and influencer Femi Adebayo will distribute to Muslims in Ibadan; renowned music artiste Umar Sheriff will present to the recipients in Abuja while Kano-based film actor and director Yakubu Mohammed will gift consumers in the Kano Muslim community.
Speaking on the campaign, Coca-Cola Nigeria Marketing Director Murtala Yusuf said, “as a company, Coca-Cola understands the value of sharing and rewarding good deeds, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We believe that we have a lot of good people in our society who are doing good and impacting the people around them positively. Hence we decided to use the month of Ramadan to reward these good people in our midst.”
He added that the month of Ramadan significantly contributes to fostering good relations and promoting community cohesion, adding that the campaign is the company’s way of promoting sharing and togetherness, one of the core messages of Ramadan.
