Friends, family members and well-wishers converged on Ogbomoso on Saturday to felicitate with the Ogbomoso-born civil engineer, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu as the League of Imams and Alfas in Ogbomoso Land and Environs turbaned him as the Saraki Adini of Aimah.
Open Salawu who was an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire federal constituency in the 2019 general elections and a Special Adviser on Works and Transport to the immediate past governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi was chosen by the League of Imams and Alfas for his philanthropic gestures to Ogbomosoland and humanity in general.
The League of Imams and Alfas in Ogbomoso is the umbrella for all Ulamah and Aimah in Ogbomoso Land and its environment.
While speaking, Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Alhaji Yekeen Ashafat noted that Engineer Muftau Open Salawu among others were selected for the award due to their contributions to Islam and Ogbomoso land in general.
He also urged them to continue in this line with the mind that God will reward them abundantly as they give to those that need.
Open Salawu, the Waziri Jari Nupe, while speaking with insideoyo.com thanked Almighty Allah for His blessings and guidance upon him. He also thanked the League of Imams and Alfas for considering him worthy of the title.
“I give thanks to Almighty Allah for His blessings and guidance in my life. I thank the League of Imans and Alfas in Ogbomoso for counting me worthy of this title. I pray Almighty Allah continue to be with everyone one of us.
