Iseyin City football club defeated Itesiwaju Lions 3 – 1 in the semi final of the ongoing Peller Unity Cup Season II and booked a space in final.
Fidudusola Olaitan grabbed brace at the game played at OYSADEP stadium, Saki on Wednesday.
Iseyin City dominated the first half, squandering a number of chances before Fidudusola Olaitan who scored the first goal of the PUC Season II second edition struck in a grounder shot at the 20th minute after connecting with Okesola Soji brilliant pass in the box.
Moyosore Adeola doubled the tally for Iseyin City nine minutes after the restart of the match but the goal deficit was reduced again three minutes later courtesy of Onifade Sunday’s solo finish.
At the 66th minute, Fidudusola Olaitan grabbed a brace for Iseyin City with a rocket shot outside box, the goal drew applause from many fans and football lovers at the stadium.
While speaking after the match, Coach of Iseyin City, Semiu Ajasa gave thanks to God and commended his players for job well done.
He charged the players to go for the trophy at the final stage
In a related development, the lawmaker representing lseyin/ltesiwaju/ Kajola/lwajowa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Shina Peller, has commended semi finalists at the ongoing Peller Unity Cup Season II.
Hon. Shina Abiola Peller, the Ayedero of Yoruba Land said this while speaking with newsmen at the semi final match between Iseyin City and Itesiwaju Lions.
He commended the four teams from Itesiwaju and Iseyin local governments for putting thier best since the start of the competition.
His words: “Fortunately, we have two teams each from Iseyin and Itesiwaju local governments. I believe the semi finalists deserved to be at this stage; they put in their best and it paid off. It was coincidence and it makes football more beauty.”
Hon Shina Peller also emphasized that the purpose of the competition has been successfully achieved through unity, love and youth empowerment.
He lauded efforts made by the local organizing committee, match officials, medical team, security agencies since the start of the competition.
