In a landmark move to commemorate his 50th birthday, the Ayedero of Yorubaland and former federal lawmaker, Hon. Shina Peller, has announced a ₦50 million empowerment plan aimed at supporting the needy and boosting small businesses across Nigeria.
Peller, who will officially hit the “Golden Jubilee” milestone on May 14, 2026, revealed that instead of the high-octane social gatherings typically associated with his brand, he will celebrate by gifting ₦1 million each to 50 deserving individuals who are in need to scale their business ventures.
In a video shared across his social media platforms on May 1, the business mogul and politician reflected on his life’s journey, stating that his 50th year calls for a deeper commitment to humanity.
“Reflecting on my life so far, I must acknowledge those who have been part of my story,” Peller stated. “I have celebrated on air, on sea, and on land. There is nowhere I haven’t been. So, for my 50th, I feel like simply having a special prayer session and being a bridge of hope to the people.”
The initiative, tagged #ShinaPellerGiveaway and #GivingWithShinaPeller, is designed to provide direct capital to the less privileged and entrepreneurs who can demonstrate a clear vision for growth.
To ensure transparency and reach a wide audience, the former lawmaker outlined a digital-first selection process requiring applicants to post a business proposition on Instagram detailing what they intend to achieve with ₦1 million.
In addition, the Oke Ogun-born businessman cum politician noted that all entries must tag @shinapeller and utilize the hashtag #ShinaPellerGiveaway.
He stated further that beneficiaries will be chosen randomly from the pool of valid entries, with the final list of names to be announced on his birthday, May 14, 2026.
Peller, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the visionary behind the famous Club Quilox, has increasingly focused on social impact even long before his tenure in the 9th National Assembly. He is the PDP Senatorial candidate for Oyo North in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Also, his traditional title, Ayedero, which signifies “The One who brings ease to the world,” has become the thematic foundation for his recent public engagements.
In previous years, Peller has marked his birthdays through visits to the Pacelli School for the Blind and various youth-driven initiatives across Nigeria. This ₦50 million commitment marks his largest individual birthday philanthropy to date.
The celebrant urged his well-wishers to support the cause, inviting associates to join him in building “bridges” for the less privileged rather than funding lavish festivities.
“If you’d like to celebrate with me, don’t buy me gifts rather join me in giving. Use #GivingWithShinaPeller to show how you’re blessing someone or people this month and tag me,” he said.
He continued; “If you need support and one to be part of the beneficiaries, post a 1-minute video telling us your story with #ShinaPellerGiveAway. On May 14th, I’ll randomly select my choice of 50 people.
“Giving is my way of life and that is the only birthday celebration that truly matters.”
“May Allah grant us all long life filled with love, abundant affluence, and sound health,” he concluded.
