The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the construction of a modern, state-of-the-art office complex for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, describing the project as a landmark achievement in the party’s history.
The commendation was made in a statement issued by the Forum’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, on behalf of the council chairmen under the leadership of the Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Sanda.
According to the statement, Governor Makinde’s initiative reflects visionary leadership and a deep commitment to strengthening the party’s institutional framework in Oyo State.
The chairmen noted that the development has further transformed the political environment in the state by promoting unity, coordination and effectiveness among party members.
The council chairmen described the newly commissioned PDP secretariat as a “magnificent party house,” noting that it was officially inaugurated on Monday, February 3, by the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Turaki.
They emphasized that the building represents a significant milestone for the PDP in Oyo State, as it is the first time the party is acquiring a permanent edifice of such standard and capacity since its inception.
Welcoming members of the PDP national leadership to Ibadan, described as the political headquarters of South-West Nigeria, the chairmen expressed gratitude to party stakeholders at all levels for the cooperation, commitment and unity that made the project a reality.
They added that the new secretariat would enhance the party’s operational efficiency, improve coordination of party activities and further strengthen the PDP’s presence and influence across the South-West region.
The forum also urged all PDP members in Oyo State to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the new office, calling for renewed unity, collaboration and collective commitment toward advancing the party’s goals and consolidating its position in the state.
