Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has announced plans to conduct local government elections in thirty-three (33) Local Government Councils of the state.
The electoral body announced this in a recent noticed signed by Aare Islakia Abiola Olagunju, OYSIEC chairman.
The commission said the election is in compliance with Section 28 of Electoral Act 2022 (as amended), Section 5 (a) and Paragraph (1) Schedule 2 .
It added that the election would be conducted on 27″ April, 2024 between 8:00am and 3.00pm.
It urged prospective candidates to obtain nomination forms in respect of the elections into their Local Government Council at the Commission’s Headquarters situated at Quarters 484, Total Garden-Gate Road, Agodi GRA, ibadan, Oyo State on or before Monday 28 August, 2023.
