The Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate Management ably led by Mr. Adegboyega Johnson Oladipupo has immensely applauded the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Engineer (Dr.) Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE for his unquantifiable roles and commitment which led to the success of the accreditation exercise which was carried out in the college between 17 and 22 December, 2023 for the purpose of accrediting all academic programmes of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) being run in the institution.
In a letter signed by the Director, Academic programmes, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Dr. Umar Adams Kwami, it was stated that the Management of the Commission at its 305th Regular meeting on 28th December, 2023 approved the results of the exercise which comprised all the courses in Schools of General Education, Arts and Social Sciences, Early Childhood Care and Primary Education (ECCPED), Languages, Science and Vocational and Technical Education.
The letter further stated that “full accreditation status allows the institution to continue to run a programme for
the next five years, however, recommendations made in the report must be addressed without delay”.
The letter highlighted that “to sustain and further improve on the quality of Administration and Management in the College, certain steps which included ensuring that the Council hold regular meetings with evidence of minutes taken at the meeting; NCCE representative must be part of the Council members; Internal road network should be graded and tarred with asphalts; staff offices should be adequately furnished;the College should be fenced to prevent intruders;the Internal Quality Assurance Directorate should be strengthened; adequate ICT facilities should be provided for staff and utility vehicles should be provided among others.
While commending Management as well as the Governing Council of the College for this outstanding performance, the Director gave the assurances of the Executive
Secretary’s highest regards and congratulated the Management for the laudable achievement.
