Oyo state has recorded sixteen new cases of coronavirus in the last three days as the record of the virus hit 318, according to data compiled by InsideOyo.com.
On Tuesday, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) announced 15 new cases for the state no case was recorded on Wednesday while one case was recorded on Thursday.
Governor Seyi Makinde and the head of the COVID-19 taskforce in the state did not announce the 15 cases recorded on Tuesday, but the governor confirmed a new case on Thursday and tallied the total number with that of NCDC figure.
“The COVID-19 confirmation test for one suspected case came back POSITIVE. The case is from Oluyole Local Government Area.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 318,” the governor stated in a tweet released on Friday morning.

He said the Emergency Operations Centre will commence additional community-based testing at Ibadan southwest and Ibadan North Local Government Areas today.
The community-based testing drive is expected to take place in ten locations across the state.
