Oyo state government’s total public debt climbed N148.72 billion as at June 30, 2019, according to the Debt Management Office report seen by InsideOyo.com.
The latest DMO report shows that Oyo’s foreign debt amount to $136.53 million (N49.36 billion) while Domestic debt stood at N99.36 Billion, as at December 2019.
The Debt Management Office (DMO) stated this in a report released on Wednesday. October 16th.
Further analysis of the report by InsideOyo.com indicates that the state owes multilateral organisation in the foreign debt segment.
With this new figure, it is not yet certain if the newly approved N7.6 billion loan facility by the Oyo State House of Assembly has been added or not.
The Debt Management Office (DMO) said Nigeria’s total debt increased to $83.88 billion (N25.70 trillion) at the end of June 2019.
