The Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has bagged a prestigious senior fellowship recognition award of the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, CIPRMP, Ghana.
According to the institute, international recognition award is to commend the impressive and enviable track records of the 32-year-old Ogundoyin as an advocate of justice, notable public service personality and highly resourceful Nigerian statesman.
In his speech during the induction ceremony in Ibadan on Friday, the Executive Director of the Institute, Dr. Richards Kpoku-Aquate noted that Ogundoyin has proven himself as a visionary and proficient parliamentarian that is determined to leave indelible marks in Nigeria’s legislative landscape.
He thus added that the institute will forever have the greatest respect for his unique leadership as an uncommon breed of public servant, who has the interest of his constituency very dear to heart.
He said, “Indeed this institute is proud to attest to Ogundoyin’s uniqueness as the youngest speaker in the history of Oyo State House of Assembly and also in the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We have being following he’s activities in the media and later after our close examination and review on his personality, we believe this is an attestation of your visionary leadership quality.
“As an institute of repute in Africa, we urge the Speaker to see this milestone as a motivation to rededicate himself and continue with the good services to the Nation and humanity in general.
“As he received this award of Induction into the 2019 Fellowship hall of fame as a symbol of investure, he should make a solemn pledge to remain faithful, loyal and honest to Nigeria as an ambassador and distinguished compatriot of this great nation.”
In his response, Ogundoyin described the honour as encouragement and a challenge to more in terms of bringing improved innovation and strategies into leadership and service to the people.
“One of the leading national daily published my exclusive interview today, where I talked about the high expectation and pressure on me to deliver as a youth speaker, because some young persons like me who had such opportunity could not perform as expected.
“So, I decided to accept this honour because a see it as a way of setting standard and reminder for myself not to disappoint my people in Oyo State and of course the Nigerian youths,” he added.
Nigerian personalities who has received same honour from CIPRM includes – the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulKareem Sulyman; the Ogun State Former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Former first lady of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Former Governor, Donald Duke and many others.
