Oyo State, through the Ministry of Environment, is set to commemorate World Clean Up Day in grand style this year. World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem.
This year’s event takes place on Friday, September 20, following its addition to the UN Calendar of International Days.
The Oyo State Ministry of Environment has planned a two-day event to commemorate World Clean Up Day 2024.
The first day will feature a stakeholders’ engagement and public enlightenment event, scheduled to take place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The second day will be a community clean-up exercise, slated for Saturday, September 21, 2024.
The clean-up exercise will commence from Dugbe to Mokola, with the assembly point at Cocoa House, at 7:30 a.m.
