The Oyo state chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has adopted the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde as their preferred candidate for 2019 elections.
Rising from its meeting on Thursday, attended by the local government officials of the party at the Banquet Hall, Premier Hotel, Ibadan, the State Chairman, Alhaji Kola Mudashiru Balogun announced the resolution.
The party said Makinde possess the qualities needed for the number one job in the state.
Balogun said there is the need for synergy among opposition parties in the state to kick out the current APC in the state in order to stop a dispensation of unemployment, poverty, hunger, unpaid salaries and poor health facilities.
However, findings by insideOYO.com revealed that Chief Bolaji Ayorinde was listed as the party’s governorship candidate in the state.
It’s not clear if Ayorinde has stepped down or otherwise as effort to reach him was proved abortive.
