Lawmaker representing ATISBO, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja, Honourable Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun also known as ‘Were’ has been turbaned as the Asiwaju Adinni of Saki land.
The turbaning ceremony took place, on Sunday at the 20 Years Anniversary of Imamship of the Grand Chief Imam of Saki Land, Shiekh Abdulaziz Jeje Kunmi, Areebo Mosojo.
Were, who’s the chairman House Committee on Culture and Tourism was recognized alongside others sons and daughters of Saki.
While speaking, the lawmaker announced the gift of another Toyota Venza to the Chief Imam of Saki land as he did at about ten years ago.
He added that the title and recognition given to him will spur him to do more for the good people of Saki land and others in Ifedapo Federal Constituency.
He thanked the Muslim Ummah in Saki for the title and recognition.
His words: “As salam alleykum waramattullah watahalah Wa barakatuhu. I do not know how much to express my gratitude, appreciation and acceptance of this worthy religious duty put upon my head but gladly I accept and promise to discharge my duties and responsibilities expected from my commitment to the service of the Saki Muslim Community.
“On a personal note, I appreciate the league of Imam and the heirs of Prophet Muhammad SAW on the peaceful soil of our Saki for finding me worthy of this title which I wholeheartedly believe that it is another challenge, a new call to the service of humanity, a subscription to do more, and a chance to prove my constituents that their choice at the poll was the best they could do.
“Furthermore, I urge the Muslim community and good people of Saki to be religious tolerant and respectful to other faithfuls as we are all human before Islam and Christianity or the traditional worshippers. We should do our best to promote peace in our environment as a peaceful environment is a developing one.
“Lastly, while I thank Allah SWT, and seek long life for our Chief Imam in Saki land. I wish we all have reasons to be thankful to our creator. Jazakhumllah Khayrah ”
