As Muslims across the world commemorate the Eid-el-Kabir festival, the lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Engr. Aderemi Oseni has marked the occasion in grand style by distributing rams, cows, food items, and cash gifts worth over ₦200 million to constituents and residents across the state.
The massive distribution exercise, which covered communities in Ibarapa East, Ido Local Government Areas, and other parts of Oyo State, was designed to enable the Muslim faithful to celebrate the annual festival with joy, dignity, and a renewed sense of inclusion.
No fewer than 600 rams, cows, foodstuffs, and cash gifts were handed out to Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, community leaders, party members, widows, youth groups, and the less privileged across various communities, and local government areas.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, the lawmaker—who also chairs the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA)—described the gesture as part of his enduring commitment to inclusive leadership and sustained community development.
“Eid-el-Kabir teaches the values of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion. As leaders, we must emulate these values by giving back to society and uplifting the people we represent,” Oseni stated.
He further emphasised that the initiative, though grand in scale and cost, was not politically motivated but inspired by a sincere desire to foster religious harmony, promote social welfare, and show solidarity with the Muslim faithful during this sacred period.
“This is a moment of reflection and gratitude. As we celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters, we must also remember the importance of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and continuous prayers for our dear country,” the APC chieftain added.
In various towns and distribution points, jubilant scenes and heartfelt prayers greeted the exercise as beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the lawmaker’s generosity. Many described the APC chieftain as a consistent leader who remains connected to the grassroots and responsive to the needs of his people.
