Former Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr) Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, has described Governor Seyi Makinde as a beacon of Internal Democracy, noting that the smooth conduct of the PDP ward, local government and state congresses showed Governor Makinde as a true democrat.
Ojo hailed the governor’s efforts in entrenched democracy by ensuring internal democracy in the party, lauded his pivotal roles in the success of the PDP at the Oyo State and national levels, just as he commended his good governance and leadership style.
A lawyer with distinguished career in politics and public service, including roles as Supervisory Councillor, Secretary to Atisbo Local Government, Atisbo Local Government Chairman and Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ojo declared that with internal democracy in place, the PDP will continue to record resounding successes at the polls.
He said: “I commend the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde on the successful conduct of the PDP Congresses in the state.
“The recent conduct of the ward, local, and state congresses that culminated into the election of new ward, local government and state executives ahead of the 2027 general election, is a testament to the party’s commitment to internal democracy.
“This is a value that has been instrumental in the PDP’s growth and stability in Oyo State over the years.
“As a seasoned politician, I can also say categorically that Governor Makinde’s effective leadership has enabled the PDP to demonstrate its internal democracy and set a benchmark for other parties to follow.”
Hon Ojo, while congratulating the new state executives, described them as “the best of the best, chosen by the will of the people,” tasking them to continue to direct the affairs of the party in a way that it will continue to remain unbeatable and in charhe of driving Oyo State’s continued progress and development.
Hon. Ojo added that the seamless conduct of the congress showed the PDP’s confidence in Governor Makinde’s leadership and his commitment to delivering results for the people of Oyo State, noting that under Governor Makinde’s leadership, Oyo State has witnessed notable achievements in various sectors.
“With Governor Makinde’s guidance, I am certain that the newly elected PDP state executives will continue to make a meaningful impact and the party will continue to wax stronger.
“As a stakeholder, I am also reaffirming my commitment to strengthening the PDP in Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency, with a view to making it stronger and poised to come out victorious in future elections,” Hon. Ojo added.
