The Oyo state Muslim Community has commended Governor Seyi Makinde over the declaration of Hijrah 1445 Holiday in the state.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni Chairman and Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbade, Secretary-General, on Thursday.
The statement read: “The Muslim Community of Oyo State writes to commend H.E. Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE for declaring Tuesday, 19th July, 2023 (1st of Muharram, 1445), even without any prompting or reminder.
A good deed should be commended.
“As we always indicate, equity between the two major religions in all spheres in the affairs of Oyo State, is all that we clamour for.
“May Almighty Allah continue to help you in all that you do in the equitable governance of the pace-setter state
“Thank you, Your Excellency”
